Smokey Quartz / Black Tourmaline Cluster
This large and heavy smokey quartz cluster from Erongo, Namibia is an absolute treasure from Mother Earth. The cluster combines smokey quartz with schorl (black tourmaline), and feldspar. The orangey brown hues most likely created by iron, are secondary druzy coating on some of the quartz. Some of the quartz has shards of schorl within. The quartz points vary in size with some very small ones clustered beside the bigger points, which radiate out in all directions. There is some hyalite opal present in small patches, seen with a UV light. There are rainbow flashes present. The little ‘fungi’ like spots just add to the overall charm of this stunning and unusual cluster, which sits beautifully upright on its flat base.
A fabulous unique specimen piece that would would make a valuable addition to a collection.
