This petite Veracruz Amethyst displays multiple trigonic sunken downward facing record keepers on two faces. There is some very fine etching on the surface in places. The quartz contains soft purple hues, and has good clarity. There is some milky cloud towards the base and some inclusions.

Veracruz Amethyst is from a mountainous area near Las Vegas, in Veracruz state, Mexico. It is considered to be one of the finest amethyst in the world. It is mined as a family business, using hand tools, and wheelbarrows. The side of the mountain has several openings going into short horizontal tunnels., where they collect the amethyst. All the Veracruz amethyst in my collection has come directly from the miner.
