This lustrous deep blue calcite is a new find from Spitzkoppe, Namibia. There are a couple of small spots of dark silver grey pyrite sitting on the surface of one side. A palm size piece with a fairly clean cut that sits well in the hand.
Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral and has a trigonal lattice system with a hardness of 3. With a perfect rhombohedral cleavage it has a tendency to break off into well formed cubes with parallel sides. 
As a soft stone, calcite absorbs energy and is ideal for clearing blockages in the human energy field. This blue calcite is very calming and can help bring a feeling a peace. Helpful for those who suffer from anxiety. Blue calcite aids self expression and articulate communication. It teaches us to ‘go with the flow’, reducing stress.
