Hi, my name is Jo, and I am the founder of The Natural Crystal Collection. I am a crystal therapist and a collector of crystals. I am also a Reiki Master. I have a degree in English and History, I love to write, and I am an avid reader and researcher. I have a particular interest in amethyst, and the beautiful Brandberg Quartz from Namibia is a speciality of mine.
The question I am often asked is what started me on this journey…
I have been part of the crystal community for about eight years now, drawn to crystals initially due to a chronic illness. Crystals transformed my life from day one, and I was encouraged by my therapist to train as a crystal therapist, which I did over a course of two years.
At the beginning of 2020 I was doing some research for a writing project and came across an opportunity to purchase some of my favourite crystals, Spirit Quartz, from the only source, which is in South Africa. Well, one thing led to another, a few more crystals jumped in the box, and The Natural Crystal Collection was born. I set up just after Covid appeared and as we went in to lockdown. Covid rather put a damper on some of my plans but it didn’t deter me and here I am three years later, with a room now packed full with beautiful crystal treasures from Mother Earth. The majority of my crystals are from Southern Africa, as I particularly love their energies. The land and culture is so ancient and spiritual. I do deviate from this on the odd occasion when I can’t resist a particular offering. I have the odd selection from Madagascar and Morocco. Every one of my crystals is unique and authentic. They are raw and natural, uncut and 99.9% unpolished, very tactile and earthy.
It is extremely important to me to know where all my crystals come from, as this forms their identity, and helps me to know about their energies. It is also important to know how they are mined, and to know they are as ethical as they can be, as in who mined them and how. It is good to know that I and my customers are supporting artisanal miners to earn a living.

I run my small business from home, in the rolling hills of mid Wales, at the foot of what is known as the Green Desert, where you can walk for miles and miles, and never see another person, or a dwelling. In our valley we are surrounded by farmsteads, sheep, and red kites. We are facing a small natural lake in the distance where the Canadian Geese settle to raise their young.
I practise my therapies alongside my crystal business, although the crystals have taken over somewhat! I will be running a couple of Crystal Wisdom Days in the late spring and summer, which I will announce very soon. I am also planning on holding some sacred healing circles this year throughout the late spring / summer / autumn months. These circles will be varied, and I will post more info on them very soon. .

When I am not in the crystal room, I love mooching about locally and further afield with my hubby Clive, who some of you have met at the Rock & Gem Shows we’ve attended. We love visiting the Welsh coast, especially Pembrokeshire.
My other main commitment is spending precious time with my beautiful granddaughter, who is five going on 15. She is home educated so my granny duties continue weekly. She enjoys being in the crystal room with me, and helps me pack parcels on occasions, and is always on the hunt for unusual stones out in nature.
I must also mention my much loved veggie garden, which I have created from scratch (with a little help of course). I love my herbal teas and long for them to leaf up again, which should be anytime soon!
I have always been a very spiritual being and a free spirit. My favourite place is to be out in nature. I particularly love the mountains and the sea.

I have learnt so much about crystals and their wisdom they have to offer us. I look forward to the future and playing my small part in growing the crystal and healing community and bringing more love and peace to the world.
