This lustrous deep blue calcite is a new find from Spitzkoppe, Namibia. There are a couple of spots of dark silver grey pyrite sitting on the surface creating an unusual combination. A palm size piece with nice textures and clean cut that sits well in the hand.
Calcite is a calcium carbonate mineral and has a trigonal lattice system with a hardness of 3. With a perfect rhombohedral cleavage it has a tendency to break off into well formed cubes with parallel sides. 
As a soft stone, calcite absorbs energy and is ideal for clearing blockages in the human energy field. This blue calcite is very calming and can help bring a feeling a peace.
