This large,  rare and beautiful blue amber is from Indonesia and collected by the local villagers from the nearby coal deposits. It displays as blue and fluoresces blue in a UV light, then when held up to the light it displays the usual browns, oranges and yellows. There are sparks of fiery orange in places and the amber has the feeling of sunshine and warmth.
 
Formed over 20 million years ago, the resin is from a now extinct tree species Hynenaea Protera. You can read more about it by clicking the link below...
